Weekend Pictures and Wonderfulnesses

So last week, I had my birthday and got to celebrate with my family and some friends at home. And I got to demand some special treatment (and was equally surprised by other special treats!) Basically, there were a few things that I wanted to do in Charleston that I hadn't gotten around to, or wanted to try again, and this was my weekend to eat!

Cory's Famous Grilled Cheese- from a new(ish) food cart downtown
SUPER delish- cinnamon raisin bread, honey mustard, muenster cheese and bacon!

My wonderful fiance nomming a deluxe grilled cheese with bacon

Uber cute Sugar Bakeshop (that's making our wedding cake!) Go visit them.... they are wonderful and have such unique flavor combinations.

Chocolate peanut butter in the right hand and mini grapefruit vanilla cupcake in the left!

The grapefruit was mine, all mine! And a great balance of the tart with the vanilla. Recommend!

My surprise brownie cake from my future mother-in-law. How sweet!

I love Charleston's iron work! Outside the William Aiken house.

Stingrays hockey game- just like when I was little! I celebrated my 8th birthday with them too!

Beautiful Sunday sunrise before church

And I could be at home along the intercoastal waterway for the rest of my life!

I hope your weekends were just as lovely- I'm back to the daily business/busy-ness of school!
Thank goodness only a few more months towards graduation!

Inspiration and Goals: Getting Use out of Inspiration

Ok, so I'm apparently not getting off to a good start for my blogging year. I just want to make sure that I am posting relative things and not just whatever comes to my head!

This year, one of my other goals is to go through my Pinterest, idea stash and other random ways that I've stored ideas and actually DO some of them! And weed out ideas that I'm not so in love with anymore, because I feel like I'm overwhelmed by good ideas. Does anyone else feel that way about Pinterest?!

So I've made a goal to accomplish at least 4 recipes a month that I've been saving up and a couple of DIY projects as well. Here's what I've moved to the top of my list for the next week:

Blood Orange Italian Soda - because I love buying it from World Market but hands on is way more gratifying!

Take more pictures!

Organize my recipes, so I can choose which ones to make

Put a little greenery into my life

Bubble tea!

And maybe this bread? Not sure, but it looks delicious!

What are the things inspiring you this week and how do you handle "inspiration overload?"

New Year, Re(new)ed Commitments

Hello, again, friend.  Thank you for being patient with me. I can't believe that I've been away so long and so much has happened since I last blogged. I truly feel awful for that.

Aside from feeling like I've been a bad blogger and lacking consistency, I've decided that one of my few resolutions this year is to be truly committed to everything that I am involved in, including this blog, my friends and spending time doing what I love to do.

In that spirit, I will start posting on a more regular basis with pictures, recipes, tutorials, and what-nots to replace the void that I've felt from not blogging. Though the last few months have brought several challenges that have made me step away for a while, but I can't wait to get back into regular posting. But that's all I've got for now. But there's definitely some stuff cookin!
