Inspiration Monday

It's been a long couple of weeks, but hopefully, my crafty time will be increasing in the near future, as Christmas draws nearer and nearer. Eek! But here's some inspiration from Pinterest to start your week right!

Print out a pattern you like, place a sheet of wax paper over it and trace the pattern with puffy paints. When it dries peel it off the wax paper and apply it to permanent surface.

Wedding Inspiration

One of my favorite pastimes now is looking for wedding inspiration... well, its mostly a welcome distraction from school work! This is my palate so far, what do you think? Its going to be on a Sunday afternoon on a river dock, so it won't be super fussy or fancy, but more sophisticated!

The "G" will be a "B", but I can't be picky for an Etsy listing! So apple green and charcoal grey, with lots of ivory and white!

Inspiration Monday

Hello, friends! Sorry it has been such a long time- its been a little crazy with family things and a little rough with school, but I've been hanging on!  And crafting a bit, but have been too lazy to pick up my camera! Will be doing that soon! Here are some of the things inspiring me for this week from Pinterest!

Cozy and Calming- makes me want to sit down and drink tea!

Sneak Peak: My Apartment!

Its been a long month and a half and getting everything settled into my apartment has been more of a work in progress than I expected! Thankfully, my sister came to visit over the weekend and the visit made me jump into crazy cleaning mode (mostly...) to at least get some of the projects crossed off of my list!

Still more things to arrange, so more pictures will be coming! Its been put on the back burner for too long :)

Have a wonderful Monday!

Inspiration Monday!

It finally feels like fall! At least until it gets back up into the 80's this week, but it was nice playing pretend, wearing boots and a coat this weekend! I'm super stoked for apple picking (I hope I can make it happen this fall!) and pumpkins and all those wonderful fall activities, like bonfires! Its going to be a good change to cooler weather and here's what's inspiring me this week!

Exciting Last Few Weeks...

School is really throwing off my (blogging) groove! And on top of that, I just got my internet hooked up on Monday! Its been a busy couple of weeks, so here are some of my highlights from Labor Day weekend. It feels like it was so long ago, but it really wasn't!

Well, I went home on a Thursday night because I am lucky enough to not have any classes on Friday so Friday was spent walking around Charleston and spending way too much money, but we also went to the high school football game purely to hear the band play. My little brother plays the tuba and the band is pretty phenomenal- 5 years of state championships back to back!

Saturday, I spent the afternoon tasting vodkas and wine with my parents at the Lowcountry's own vineyard, Irvin House Vinyard. They also produce the Firefly Vodka brand, so we did some of that tasting. But it is just such a gorgeous setting- live oaks on Wadmalaw Island, picnic tables and the vineyard is RIGHT there by the distillery! They only grow Muscadine grapes, so all the wines were relatively sweet but not too overpowering.  I highly recommend stopping by if you come to Charleston.

The vodka tasting was really terrific- they produce several vodkas, three rums and a sweet tea bourbon. But all the tasting equals one shot or less, so no need to worry!

And Sunday, after church and some time at the pool, the whole family headed to Boone Hall Plantation for the annual Bluegrass and BBQ festival. Even though it rained. But we can handle rain in Charleston and it cleared out before the evening so it was a great time.

And I rounded out Labor Day weekend by going back downtown to Charleston, where I drank some really great espresso at Hope and Union.

I also was really surprised.

Come the end of May, I will have a new last name. My man proposed!

Well, thats kind of all that's been happening so far, but I've been working on some home projects and I will get those up ASAP! In the meantime, have a wonderful day!

Breakfasting

I don't know if I've shared this yet, but breakfast is my FAVORITE meal. Maybe because things can be a little sweeter, or its mostly baked, or that growing up, real breakfasts always brought the family together like a special occasion.

Now that I'm living on my own and having a really strange schedule due to classes, I have time to make my breakfasts some mornings and have NO time at all other mornings. So I'm looking through all of my recipes to find the best breakfasts and working towards a fail-proof list of recipes to cook through.

I also have the Super Natural Every Day (and I love Heidi Swanson, like tons of other people), I decided to cook up some Lemon Zested Bulgur Wheat from her breakfast section.

Buy the book, make this recipe. Its PHENOMENAL. The bulgur gives it a nice, not mushy texture and the coconut milk makes it slightly sweet with the honey.

It make enough for 4 breakfasts, so I have been enjoying it all week! And yo will too (even though everyone usually thinks of bulgur in tabbouleh or a side dish. It works for breakfast, trust Heidi!)
